A Few Things to Consider

Here are a few things that should be considered:-

How long has the florist been trading? Are they experienced?

Do you know anyone who has used them before? Or maybe you have used this florist for something in the past and they made something special for you

Does the florist work from home? Or do they have a professional retail premises that you can visit at anytime. Does the business have a landline number? or is it someone trading with just a mobile number for a contact? A mobile that could be switched off when the flowers haven’t arrived on your big day (not to scare you but rogue traders do exist and we have heard some horror stories in our time)

Is the florist approved by any other large florist organisation or Relay Network? As any florist that is a member of a relay network is going to produce work that is of a consistently high standard and be governed by a code of conduct

The Next Step

Having taken those things into consideration spend time looking through florists’ websites. Once you have then decided to contact a florist, firstly make sure that they are available on the date of you wedding, then arrange a convenient time to meet up to discuss your flowers and what you want. Bring with you any ideas that you have seen, a picture of your dress if you can and a colour swatch of the colour scheme. If you don’t know the name of a flower that you’ve seen and you like don’t worry, your florist should know them and know if they are in season or not at the time of your wedding.

Is the florist friendly and helpful on an initial consultation call or meeting? Did you like the pictures of their work?

You will leave your consultation with a quotation, it is then up to you whether or not you would like to pay a deposit and save your date with that florist.

We hope that these hints and tips have been helpful, and hope you all have an exciting time planning your special days!
